How To Enter
Each annual Best of News Design™ Creative Competition covers one calendar year. The Call for Entries is published in print and online in November of the competition year. The judging takes place the following February.
Printed copies of the Call for Entries are mailed in November to previous entrants and to anyone who requests a copy. Or, download a PDF copy of the 2009 Call for Entries in English here.
In December, SND posts copies of the Call for entries in languages other than English: Spanish (castellano), French (Francais), German, Portuguese, Chinese and Russian.

Entrants submit unmounted tear sheets. Each entry requires a small entry fee, paid in U.S. funds, and an official entry form.
Entry deadlines for the current (31st) edition of the competition are as follows:
Entries from publications in the United States must be received at Syracuse (N.Y.) University no later than Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010.
Entries from publications outside the United States must be received at Syracuse (N.Y.) University no later than Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010.
The 31st edition judging will take place at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University from Feb. 5 through Feb.17, 2010.
SND will notify winners by e-mail or U.S. mail beginning in early March 2010. Also, SND will announce winners on this Web site as soon as they are verified, in early to mid-March.

IMPORTANT: Please print out all forms at 100 percent. Do not reduce or enlarge them because legibility is important.
